4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21 — A visitor to Pioneer Market discovered their car was in a self-imposed time out with the doors locked and the keys inside. Lacking a spare key to break the auto exile, law enforcement was called to assist and provided entry to the car in short order so owner and car were reunited. Morris Street
More than a parking ticket
11:50 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22 — Mount Vernon Police, while attempting to stop a vehicle, lost track of it at west McLean Road about 11:15 p.m. An observant deputy on duty in La Conner found the vehicle parked in the marina parking lot later that evening, but the driver had taken an apparent leave of absence and could not be located. 1:50 a.m., Friday, Jan. 23 — Marina security notified the sheriff’s office of someone sleeping in a car at the marina — which goes against Port policy. When notifice the subject abandoned car to sleep in the boat they own in the marina. La Conner Marina
