La Conner Police Blotter: Bumps, blowers, boaters, and a busted ride

Minor bumps, loud vents, a totaled car joyride, and post-10 p.m. party tunes — La Conner’s week in calls shows comedy isn’t always intentional.

The police blotter is a summary of recent law enforcement activity in La Conner. It includes brief descriptions of incidents reported to or handled by the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday, March 25, 8:48 p.m. Caller reported a hit and run collision at the intersection of Morris Street and Maple Avenue. Both the suspect vehicle, a silver Mercedes, and the victim vehicle, had left the scene by the time deputies arrived. There was no evidence of a collision and when a deputy later contacted the victim they found there was no damage to report. The incident reported as a hit and run was just a minor bump. Perhaps the caller needs glasses?

Tuesday, March 25, 10:55 p.m. A caller complained of noise from a business below their space and wanted it to stop. A deputy talked to the owner and found they had just finished cleaning vent hoods. No more noise. Morris Street. No mention of whether business complained about loud footsteps from above.

Tuesday, March 25, 11:50 p.m. A deputy on patrol stopped a person driving an obviously severely damaged and unsafe vehicle. Turns out the vehicle had been designated a total loss. Driver had no license and no title for the vehicle, and no luck. Driver was cited. Maple Avenue

Wednesday, March 25, 9:45 p.m. Caller reported a person violating a no-contact order by appearing at her business. The only issue was the visitor had not been served with a no-contact order. No order, no violation. Suspect left the area, but a local agency is still working to serve the no-contact order. Maple Avenue and Morris Street.

Thursday, March 27, 10:20 p.m. Callers reported boaters playing loud music at the docks. They were asked to turn it down to comply with local noise ordinances. For those who don’t know, that means sound down after 10 p.m. No additional problems. La Conner Marina
