Prowler fails to make waves
10:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20

A deputy took a report of an attempted boat break-in at the marina from a boat owner who was absent. The would-be intrusion happened a week earlier, but the potential prowler never made it past the window, and nothing was taken. The case is adrift for now, but patrols will keep watch.  La Conner Marina

Raising a stink
1:19 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22

A preschool reported a neighbor tossing dog poop over the fence onto parents’ cars. The subject in question has complained in the past about cars parking near her fence but claims she threw the poop over the fence not knowing a car was there. The neighbor insists it was her “usual routine” and claims throwing poop on the cars wasn’t intentional.(But throwing poop in the parking lot is?) Deputies are holding their noses while digging into the mess. E. State Street

Repeated 911 hangups kept dispatchers guessing. Turns out it was just a phone glitch, not an emergency. The homeowner is fixing the problem. North Second Street
