Monday, April 14, 8:45 p.m. A vehicle spotted doing laps around town drew the attention of suspicious locals, who called a deputy. The deputy had no trouble finding the vehicle and upon inquiry discovered the driver was just hopelessly lost and searching for a hotel. The deputy kindly pointed them in the right direction, ensuring their next lap ended at a pillow and not another cul-de-sac. Morris and Maple and Morris and Maple and Morris and Maple…
Smelly situation
Monday, April 14, 10:40 p.m. There was an aromatic assault at the La Conner Country Inn when someone threw a stink bomb through an open door at the hotel. The smell was bad enough to wake the dead and guests evacuated while the stink dissipated. Several guests were moved to rooms away from the center of the foul smell. Deputies were skunked when they tried to sniff out the culprit. La Conner Country Inn.
Sticks and stones
Friday, April 18, 2:57 p.m. A bully hurled words at their victim on the school bus. No physical contact was made, but a deputy made contact and was able to resolve the issue between the students.
Dazed and confused
Friday, April 18, 5:30 p.m. A driver was caught on radar going 39 m.p.h. in the 25 zone on Maple Avenue. Among random comments the driver made to the deputy, she mentioned having just been in an accident. A quick investigation uncovered the driver was a suspect in a hit and run that occurred earlier at I-5 and State Road 20, where she had run a red light and hit another car. There was a young child in the car and the driver smelled of intoxicants. She was taken into custody for DUI, hit and run, reckless endangerment, speeding, and no insurance. She was processed for DUI and released to family. Maple Avenue.
