Fiber fallout — truck tangled in tele-drama

A delivery truck leaving Pioneer Market found itself caught in a high-stakes hookup — with some overhead Ziply Fiber lines. The impromptu tug-of-war ended with the truck losing signal, and several households briefly buffering their feelings. The truck was reportedly under the legal height limit so no citations, but the driver’s ego definitely took a download. Road Street

6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8
Reports surfaced of a full-blown pop-up campground under Pioneer Park. Deputies arrived to inform the group that “boondocking” wasn’t on the city’s amenities list. The travelers — complete with motorhome and support convoy — agreed to relocate after one last five-star scenic sleepover (no room service, but plenty of raccoons). Pioneer Parkway
Galaxy found at station
7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8
A deputy recovered a lost Samsung Galaxy on the sidewalk outside the Sheriff’s Office. Despite initial hopes, it was not evidence of extraterrestrial life — just a terrestrial phone out of orbit. The likely owner was notified it could be reclaimed from the office, where it’s reportedly still pinging satellites and begging for a software update. Commercial St.
Repeat retreat
7:20 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9
The same motorhome that once graced Pioneer Park set up camp in a new location. Officers gently reminded the owner that while the town welcomes tourists, there are actual hotels that don’t come with eviction notices, as well as a suitable RV park. The RV rolled up and out. Morris Street
