Just don’t break the eggs
Thursday, April 24, 9:17 a.m. In the Pioneer Market parking lot, one driver’s leisurely grocery run turned into a surprise bumper meet-and-greet when another vehicle reversed into them mid-drive-through. No injuries, no yolks broken, and details were exchanged like awkward party favors. Since it happened on private property, deputies remained free to focus on bigger fish—or at least dogs in hot cars. Morris Street.
Deny, deny, deny
Thursday, April 24, 10:53 a.m. Someone redecorated the Harbor Villa Apartments office window with what could charitably be called “aggressively expressive” language. There’s a suspect, but no camera footage, so the trail is as cold as a frozen fish stick. Deputies contacted the suspected Picasso of profanity, who denied everything. East State Street.
Dogwatchers anonymous
Saturday, April 26, 3:15 p.m. La Connerites are always watching and true to form, someone spotted a dog left in a parked car and phoned it in. Concern was raised, deputies were dispatched—but by the time they arrived, both car and canine had vanished like a magician’s act. Witnesses said the dog looked “healthy and happy.” 600 block of First Street.
Buh bye
Saturday, April 26, 9:56 p.m. Caller reported they had lost a wallet, possibly at The Firehall Kitchen & Taphouse. It has not been seen since and may have departed with new owners. Morris Street.
Hurrying into trouble
Sunday April 27, 10:45 a.m. A lead-footed driver zoomed 15 m.p.h. over the limit, only to find themselves facing not one, but two citations — turns out their car also required an ignition interlock device. Moral of the story: if you’re going to speed, at least make sure your car isn’t on probation. Cited and released just outside of town. La Conner/Whitney Road.
Bummer
Sunday, April 27, 2025, 4:50 p.m. A customer from Nell Thorn restaurant reported their vehicle had been hit in the parking lot while they were gone and suffered chipped paint and a broken rear wiper. Unknown suspect vehicle. A traffic deputy is currently investigating. If your car got into a parking lot brawl, now’s the time to speak up. First Street.
