1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 8 – La Conner citizens are ever alert for hot dogs and a report of canines left in a truck prompted a check by deputies. The owner said the pups were doing just fine, although they were not happy someone had hit the “paw-lice” button. The owner agreed to check on the dogs so everyone could rest easy and let sleeping dogs lie. 1st Street

3:59 p.m., Monday, July 6 – A custom Visa gift card featuring the intended recipient’s face and name was turned in to Town Hall. Unfortunately, despite the personalized design, nobody could find a matching person in available records, leaving the card unclaimed and unused. Douglas Street

11:41 a.m., Monday, July 6 – A resident reported concern after learning their home address had been posted publicly on social media by someone they didn’t recognize. The reporting party had no idea who the poster was or why the address appeared online, leaving the situation more unsettling than social. Maple Avenue

11:36 a.m., Monday, July 6 – What initially appeared to be a missing parade flag turned out to be an accidental reconfiguration. The flag had been turned in by a local business after a tall vehicle clipped the bracket holding it in place. Public Works lifted the bracket, raising it higher on the utility pole.. 1st Street
