3:20 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 A deputy conducting traffic enforcement near La Conner School pulled over a vehicle for expired tabs. The driver’s record revealed more than just overdue paperwork — their license was suspended, and they were required to have an ignition interlock from a prior alcohol-related incident. 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 Deputies responded to reports of a disturbance where witnesses saw a man pull a woman into a car and strike her several times. A deputy quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop to investigate domestic violence. Although both individuals denied any physical altercation, evidence at the scene supported witness accounts and confirmed an assault. Deputies also discovered an active no contact order between the suspect and victim, which was being violated. The man was arrested for domestic violence assault and felony violation of the no contact order — proving that ignoring the rules will always put the brakes on freedom. La Conner Marina & RV Park.
