No one was injured in a fire that partially damaged a laundry room at the La Conner Inn Thursday afternoon.
La Conner Fire Department Chief Aaron Reinstra said the origins of the fire will be investigated.
“Looks right now like an electrical started some sheets on fire,” he said outside the inn as firefighters could be seen throwing out and hosing down the sheets.
The call was made at 3:23 p.m., with La Conner Fire Department, Fire District 13, McLean Road Fire Department, Anacortes Fire Department and an ambulance from Mount Vernon responding to the scene.
According to Reinstra, it took less than 10 minutes to put out the fire, which did not affect the washers and driers but required the removal of a small section of the wall and left some minor smoke damage.
