Robert “Bob” Lewis Christensen, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in La Conner, Washington, on Oct. 28, 2025, in the presence of his loving wife and family.

Born in The Dalles, Oregon, Bob was the youngest child of Helmer and Lola (Gibson) Christensen. He was raised in The Dalles and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953, receiving an honorable discharge. Through the GI Bill, Bob attended Oregon State University and earned a degree in accounting. Bob began his career at Boeing in Seattle, where he worked for 15 years before joining Georgia Pacific Corporation in Bellingham. He was employed there for 20 years. He retired after a successful career and enjoyed 30 years of retirement.

Known affectionately by his children as “Digger,” Bob was passionate about gardening and was rarely seen without a shovel in hand. He was also an avid runner, participating in numerous 10K races and completing seven marathons. In recent years, his beloved border collie, “Tag,” was his constant companion and a source of great joy.

His three remarkable children will remember him for his quiet strength, deep love for nature, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah; children Robert (Jr.), Todd and Karen; grandchild Zack; and niece Elise.

A memorial service is being planned for Spring, 2026. Please visit www.evanschapel.com/obituary/bob-christensen to share memories and receive updates.
