The cool maritime climate and fertile soils make Skagit Valley one of the best places in the country to grow brassica crops like sprouts, cauliflower, and broccoli. Washington State University Skagit County Extension reports more than 2,500 acres are planted each year, supporting local economy and sustainable crop rotations.
