Pie Dive Bar, the much-anticipated La Conner eatery serving savory and sweet pies alongside craft cocktails, has delayed its opening from June to the end of July. In addition to final preparations for launch, the business recently received approval from local commissioners to update the exterior of its waterfront location, the Lighthouse Inn Building. 

Salish Bites, the beloved frybread and Indian taco stand long known at local powwows and community events, is now officially a business. April James and her daughter, Bonnie Rose Fornsby, formally incorporated their family-run operation in mid-June, marking a new chapter in a tradition that spans more than four decades.They plan to launch a Facebook page to share updates and promote upcoming pop-ups. While Salish Bites remains a weekend passion project — both women work full-time for the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community — the incorporation reflects a growing commitment to preserving and sharing their culinary heritage with the wider community.

The Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum is launching a new initiative to make its exhibits and programming more accessible to families and children. The first-ever Free Family Day will take place July 26, offering free admission for all ages and a full lineup of interactive activities. Visitors can enjoy spinning wheel and drop spindle demonstrations, outdoor games, a seek-and-find art treasure hunt, hands-on art activities, and story times throughout the day.
