Larry John Lee passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026 at the age of 83 in Gilbert, Arizona. He is survived by daughter Suzanne Lee and son Chris (Kendall) Lee, grandsons Aiden and Mitchell Rowley, sister Shirley Moe and brother Alan (Linda) Lee. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, sister Viola Hertzberg and brothers Don Lee and Robert (Barbara) Lee.
Larry was born November 24, 1942 in Minot, North Dakota to Ole and Olga (Ortberg) Lee. He was raised on the family farm in Carpio and it never left his heart.
His passions in life were his family, fishing, woodworking, cooking, and traveling. After serving as a medic in the US Army, he married Bonnie and they moved to Utah where he studied Forestry and Fisheries at Utah State. Upon graduation, he joined Moore-Clarke Co in an entry level sales position and ascended the ranks, ultimately becoming President and CEO of the company, expanding operations throughout the Western US and into Canada. He retired from Moore-Clarke in 1990. Never one to sit idle, he consulted on aquaculture projects in the Middle East and Asia until Bonnie retired.
After retirement, Larry found purpose volunteering at the hospital in Bellingham and loved to share his cooking and hospitality with family and friends in both Washington and Arizona. He was an endearing foster grandpa to five foster children during times in their lives when they most needed a loving grandpa.
He will be dearly missed by so many.
A memorial service will be held on September 26 for local friends and family at Eternal Springs in Gilbert, AZ. A graveside burial service for North Dakota family and friends will be planned for spring or summer 2027.
