La Conner students returned to class Wednesday, joining teachers, staff, and Swinomish Indian Tribal Community senators to kick off the school year with fresh energy and ambitious goals.
“We had a great morning,” said La Conner School Board President Susie Deyo. “The interactions with the kids was great. You could tell the kids were happy to see each other again. It was a fun day.”
Marcus Knowles, La Conner Elementary School’s new principal joined others in citing a successful launch of the school year here.
“It was a great first day of school,” he said. “It was a very smooth start.”
