Farmstand Fresh, Genuine Skagit Valley’s summertime promotion, invites locals and visitors to explore Skagit Valley’s roadside farm stands this summer, offering $5 off purchases of $20 or more through Aug. 31. Shoppers can save up to $200 while supporting local growers and enjoying farm-fresh produce, berries, cheeses and more. La Conner and nearby farmstands participating include Hedlin’s Family Farm, La Conner Gardens, Mesman Farm, Boldly Grown Farm, and Bow Hill Blueberries.
Watch your step at Tillinghast Postal and Business Center this week, where only the ADA-accessible ramp will get you in the door. The building owners are replacing the front porch area and steps and laying down a new patio space. Construction is expected to last through the end of the week. Tillinghast will remain open during usual business hours.

The La Conner Rotary Club and La Conner Thrives Association will host an “Ice Cream Meet and Treat” from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 28, at the La Conner Civic Garden Club, 622 S. Second St. The event invites residents and local business owners to enjoy complimentary ice cream while learning about service opportunities with area organizations. Attendees can explore ways to get involved, build community connections, and align with causes they’re passionate about.
The Rotary Club of La Conner installed its new officers for the 2025-2026 Rotary year at its meeting last Thursday. Marty Pease will serve as president, with Lori Buher as president-elect, John Milnor as vice president, Don Wolf as treasurer, and Conner Milliken as secretary. Board directors include Christi King (membership), Adam McGarity (youth services), Danielle Mullin (international services), Doug Moore (vocational and literacy services), and Patsy Good (community services).
