Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Saturday night at Memorial Park, a central gathering space in downtown Sedro-Woolley.
Officers responded to the park at approximately 11:19 p.m. after receiving reports of a weapons-related incident. Several individuals were transported for medical treatment, though authorities have not yet released the number of victims or their conditions. KOMO News has reported that as many as six people may have been shot.
Memorial Park, located in the heart of the city, is a popular venue for community gatherings and summer events and includes a children’s playground. The incident took place during a time when the park is typically active with visitors.
Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public. Officers and detectives remain on scene Sunday, processing evidence and continuing their investigation.
