La Conner’s unique character is evident in its historic downtown, the annual Tulip Festival, and close-knit neighborhoods. It’s precisely this strong community spirit that underscores why local journalism matters deeply to me and why I am proud to cosponsor House Bill 1060.

Supporting local journalism is not merely beneficial – it’s essential.

Importantly, local news plays a pivotal role in bridging divides, countering polarization by presenting balanced perspectives and shared narratives that encourage understanding and cooperation.
