It was a cool and foggy morning Saturday, March 1.

Just before 9 a.m., employees at Snow Goose Produce Market in Mount Vernon removed the chain link fencing around the market in preparation for the season’s opening day.

By 2 p.m. the sun was out, the temperature was nearing 60 degrees, and the parking lot was full. Customers lined up for ice cream as the sweet aroma of freshly made waffle cones filled the air.
