La Conner’s Strong Defense Secures Bi-District Win Over Orcas Island

La Conner High senior point guard C.J. Edwards lofts a three-point attempt during the Braves’ 74-48 first round 2B Bi-District triumph over Orcas Island at Landy James Gym Thursday night. La Conner erased an early 4-0 deficit to win in lopsided fashion and advance to second round tourney action at Auburn Adventist Saturday (Feb. 15) at 7 p.m.

The La Conner boys basketball team cruised past Orcas Island in the first round of the Bi-District 2B Tournament on Feb. 13 at Landy James Gym.

The La Conner boys basketball team hosted Orcas Island Thursday, Feb. 13 at Landy James Gym in the first round of the Bi-District 2B Tournament. 

The Braves dominated play and led 33-23 at halftime. The final score was 74-48.

Brayden Pedroza led La Conner with 28 points..Jimbo Bobb added 19 points and Corran Eisen had 12 for the victors.

No Orcas player scored in double figures.

“There were a lot of good things, we struggled offensively but our defensive tempo was a lot better. It’s hard to beat a team three times but we did,” said La Conner Head Coach Lance Lopez.

The boys will play the Auburn Adventist Academy at Puget Sound Adventist Academy in Kirkland on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.
