How often is the newspaper published?

We publish a print edition weekly on Thursdays to ensure timely and relevant local news coverage.

Will I get my newspaper on Wednesday like I did with the Weekly?

No. The Community News comes out on Thursdays for a specific reason: so we can include a story about the Tuesday evening Town meeting, whether it’s Town Council or the Planning Commission. With the Wednesday publication model, you had to wait an entire week to learn what happened that Tuesday. Now you get the news of the week on Thursday.

When will I get my newspaper then?

The newspaper is delivered in town on Thursdays and Fridays. Most people in the region who are outside of the town limits should receive it by mail on Friday. If you do not receive it by Monday, please email support@laconnercommunitynews.org.

Where can I find a copy of the newspaper?

Print copies are available for $2.00 at the following locations in La Conner:

How can I subscribe to the print edition?

Subscriptions & delivery

We offer newspaper subscriptions via home and mail delivery.

What areas do you deliver to?

Currently, we provide home delivery to residential and commercial addresses within the La Conner School District. Please provide us with your physical address, not a PO Box when you subscribe in order to receive home delivery.

Why is my paper delivered in a plastic bag sometimes?

In a word, rain. We don’t like using plastic, either, but biodegradable bags are not an option because they would start to degrade in the rain. However, they do not have to be single use. Please reuse your bags and if you don’t have a use for them, we can reuse them! Just bring them back to us at 128 S. 1st St. #6 and drop them off in the box by the door.

Can I send a gift subscription?

Yes! Gift subscriptions make a great present for friends and family who want to stay connected with the La Conner community. You can order one through our website or by contacting our office at 206-590-1218.

No one seems to answer the phone when I call. What should I do?

Please leave a message! We are a very small staff working with a shoestring budget. We’re doing the best we can to accommodate everyone, but we often are answering questions for people in the office while writing stories. If you leave a message, we can get back to you.
