The 2025 La Conner Daffodil Festival poster took center stage Feb. 12 when Soroptimist Maureen Harlan unveiled the vibrant image during a joint meeting of La Conner Soroptimists and the La Conner Chamber of Commerce.

Harlan, the Soroptimists’ liaison with the Chamber, revealed the poster featuring a striking Jeff Schenekl photograph of a La Conner-area daffodil field in full bloom. Snowcapped Mount Baker rises in the background of the image, taken last year.

The Daffodil Festival takes place each March, leading up to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.

“La Conner’s Daffodil Festival has really started to grow legs over the years,” Chamber Director Mark Hulst said before the unveiling. “Last year, we saw a big explosion with the festival.”

In addition to the Daffodil Festival next month, La Conner will also be the scene of the community’s third annual Murder Mystery event scripted by Chamber member Chris Jennings and her daughter, Nicole Jennings, a former KIRO News radio reporter who is now Assistant Director for Communications and Public Relations at the Seattle University School of Law.

Chris Jennings said the March 8 and 9 Murder Mystery is based in World War II era La Conner and will allow participants to find clues throughout town and interview characters dressed in period costumes portraying riveters, military personnel, and suspected spies.

Since the event spans two days, attendees will stay overnight, enjoy local restaurants, and shop at nearby stores.

“We have people coming here for the Murder Mystery from as far away as Richland,” Hulst said.
